Pink Belly Morphs

Pink Belly Morphs are becoming more and more popular every year. This year we produced some amazing Albinos and a new morph, a Caramel. The Caramel looks like a T+ Albino, and randomly hatched out of our het Albino females. Because it’s the only one, we will need a few years to raise it up and try to make some hets.  It’s a very cool looking turtle, and we are hoping it proves out genetic. There’s been a few other weird Pink Belly Morphs to hatch out around the world the last couple years. Hopefully they’ll be reproduced, too. I’d love to start making some double mutations of this species one day.

Caramel Pink Belly

Caramel Pink Belly – We just hatched this little Carmel Pink Belly Sideneck Turtle. This morph just hatched randomly out of our het for Albino Pink Belly Sideneck Turtles. It has a beautiful caramel color and amazing pink eyes. We believe it will end up proving to be a inheritable gene, and can’t wait to see how it’s colors. Due to this being the only one we have ever seen, it is not available at this time. We will post updates of it as it grows.

Albino Yellow Belly Slider

We visited a friend yesterday and got to check out his Albino Yellow Belly Slider Project. This project was started from a couple randomly hatched albinos. They have tons of patterns and some nice colors. We are getting some hets from the Chinese line to start working with. Hopefully we can hatch some in the near future. Here’s some pics of the new hatchlings.

Albino Softshell Turtles

Our Albino Softshell Turtles are hatching again! We are the only breeders producing this morph in the world, and it’s only our second year hatching them. These gentle giants are our favorite turtles, and make amazing displays in outdoor and indoor enclosures. Due to the small number produced, this morph is still very rare in captivity. We will be offering them for sale again this year, but there will only be a few available.  If you’re interested in a Albino Florida Softshell just shoot us a email with any questions you may have.

Albino River Cooters

Albino Eastern River Cooter (Pseudemys concinna concinna)

We just hatched the first Het for Albino River Cooters from our Albino female. It took us five years of hard work to Hatch these little guys. This is a very exciting project, and one we have been dreaming about for a long time. Because our albino is a female, we only need to raise a het male up to produce the first visuals. This should only take 2-3 years, but it’s going to be worth the wait. Due to the rarity of this morph, we will not be selling any hets at this time. Keep an eye out for updates on this amazing project.

Albino Razor Back Musk Turtle Eggs

Albino Razor Back Musk Turtle Eggs

Albino Razor Back Musk Turtle Eggs

This morning I found our very first Albino Razor Back Musk Turtle Eggs.

This project is one of the most exciting morphs we are working with.

Razor Backs are a small species, and very easy to care for in captivity.

Due to their small size, this morph will be very popular with keepers all over the world.

They’re very easily kept indoors year round, and make great displays in natural enclosures.

I’ll post more updates on this project as they come.

Rhinoclemmys melanosterna hatchling

We are thrilled to announce the birth of the first Rhinoclemmys melanosterna hatchling at Albinoturtles.com. While this is not a albino, it is still a very cool species. This is a Colombian Wood Turtle, and could represent the first one born in the USA. I will post more pictures of her once she’s settled in, and some more information about this amazing species.

Albino Rhinoclemmys Eggs

Albino Rhinoclemmys eggs are very easy to incubate. The temperature is kept in the upper 80’s. This morph has not been produced in captivity, but we think we are getting close. Due to the rarity of this morph, no hatchlings are available at this time.

Finding Turtle Eggs

Finding Turtle Eggs – Kicking off 2018

Finding Turtle Eggs is always fun, and the first clutch of the year really gets our blood flowing.

These Albino Pink Belly Sideneck eggs were the first clutches of our 2018 season.

This species is always the first one to start laying, and should continue until October.

They always lay their clutches near the surface, making them very easy to find

After finding a clutch of eggs we dig them up and carefully move them to nest box for artificial incubation.

We use moss to incubate this species eggs on because it helps break down the shells a little, which makes it easier for them to hatch.

In about 50 days these eggs will start to hatch, and we will have them for sale on our AVAILABLE page a few  months later.

These are only the first of many eggs of this year, so check back often to see all the crazy stuff we produce this year.
