Pied Red Eared Sliders

Pied Red Eared Sliders

Theres a bunch of new morphs popping up these days, and the Pied Red Ear Sliders are one of our favorites. They  come in a couple different forms, but none of them have been reproduced yet. There’s so much potential with this morph, and there’s going to be some amazing combos in the future. Due the the rarity of this morph you won’t see any for sale for a few more years. Two of our friends are working with these guys, and these are some pictures of their animals. They’re really something to see, and we can’t wait to get our hands on a few of our own.

Albino Box Turtles

Albino Box Turtles

Albino Box Turtles are the most sought after Turtle Morph in the world. Due to the rarity of these morphs, they aren’t for sale anywhere. Box Turtles are very smart, and make wonderful pets for beginners and experienced keepers. Because of their small size, Albino Box Turtles are very easy to keep indoors. They really get to know you, and will come over and watch you when you’re in the same room. While they’re still very rare, a few breeders, including us, are working on reproducing these morphs.

We use Waterlandtubs.com land tubs for our Albino Box Turtles. These tubs are perfect for all smaller species of turtles, but also work for groups of hatchlings. These cages are made specifically for turtles, and we keep several species in the various models. Our box turtles are kept individually, but this species can be kept in groups. We feed our Albino Box Turtles a variety of fruits, dandelions, and Mazuri Turtle Diet.

Albino Painted Turtles

Albino Painted Turtles

Albino Painted Turtles are the most beautiful Turtle Morphs being produced in captivity. Due to their small size, amazing colors, and easy care, they’re going to be very popular in the pet markets. Because they’re still only produced in small numbers, finding them for sale is still very difficult. While the different species all have unique colors and patterns, it’s hard to pick a favorite. Painted turtles can handle a wide range of environments, which makes them a great choice for outdoor displays in cooler environments. However, their small size makes keeping them indoors very easy. We are working with Albino Southern amd Western Painted Turtles, and look forward to the future of these amazing turtles.

Albino Snapping Turtle

Albino Snapping Turtle

Albino Snapping Turtle are one of the most sought after Turtle Morphs in the world. Because they’re not bred very often, finding them can be difficult. However, in the last couple years, some new breeders have started to produce them. The large size and aggressive feeding response makes them amazing display animals. Due to the size, large enclosures, including large land areas are required. Therefor, make sure you do a lot of research and planning before purchasing your Albino Snapping Turtles.

Finding a Albino Snapping Turtle

Theres only a few guys that actually produce this morph in captivity. While a few wild caught Albino Snappers are found each year, captive is better. If you’re interested in getting a Albino Snapping Turtle, CONTACT me and I can help you make that dream come true.

Albino Mud Turtle

Albino Mud Turtle

Albino Mud Turtle

We just got a new Albino Mud Turtle project to work on, and we are very excited to see her. This little Albino Florida Mud Turtle is the only known albino of her species. She needs to put on some more size before we try to breed her. Due to the small size of this species, they’re a perfect choice for indoor displays. But what they lack in size is made up in personality. We will post updates of this project on the MORPHS page, and in future blogs.

 Tiny Turtles

We have several different “tiny” projects we are working on. These are all morphs that we are still trying to reproduce, and will be for awhile. These projects are not available at this time. It will be a few years before we even have the ability to hatch the first visual, probably more than a few. These smaller morphs will be very popular with people that don’t have the space to properly house the larger morphs.

Albino Wood Turtles

Albino Wood Turtles

Albino Wood Turtles are one of the rarest Turtle Morphs in the world. They are also very easy turtles to keep in captivity, making them a great species for displays. There are three different species of Albino Wood Tutles being kept in captivity. Albinoturtles.com is working with two of them, and we are only a couple years away from producing the first captive produced Albino Wood Turtles.

Albino Rhinoclemmys and Glyptemys insculpta

The Furrowed Wood Turtle (Rhinoclemmys areolata) and Honduran Wood Turtle (Rhinoclemmys incisa) are the two we work with. We are very lucky to get to work with these amazing looking morphs. They’re both very easy turtles to keep in captivity, and they’re small size makes them easy to setup. We are working on reproducing these morphs now, and have already produced several heterozygous (normal looking gene carriers) hatchlings from the female Furrowed Wood Turtle. The Honduran Wood Turtle is a young male, and almost up to breeding size. The first captive albinos are still a few years away, and they’re going to be well worth the wait.

There is also a Albino North American Wood Turtle (Glyptemys insculpta). Someone  found it in the wild as a new hatchling, and brought it to a museum. It’s currently being kept there and seems to be thriving.

 The Future

Our first het Albino Furrowed Wood Turtles have already started breeding behaviors. It’s very possible that we will start getting the first eggs this year. This species only lays 1-2 eggs in a clutch, and with only a 25% chance, per egg, of hatching a albino, it’s going to be exciting to start getting eggs in the incubator.
